Overview
The question primer introduces basic tasks that engage with a key question form, in this case ‘when?’ They are useful as a warm-up or stop-gap. They also link to the CSI framework theme.
The tardiness of students both physically attending lectures and the submission of work to meet deadlines has been a characteristic feature of University life. Given that students can be absent 30% from a course and that feedback on courses in some units does not take into account how much time a student was absent (yet they are still expected to give feedback on the totality of the course) belies logical reasoning. The University environment is not inculcating the timetable discipline and prioritisation skills necessary for the workplace.
The University has promoted the Promodro approach. The importance of scheduling and establishing priorities which is essential for any professional should not be underestimated and sensitising students to this is important.

Typical Question I am asked:
When did you realise that Finland might not be all that it seems?
Chernobyl in 1986. Information from the Finnish media or official representatives was almost non-existent. The Soviets did not help matters, but I had to get all my information going to the outside telephone box and calling the UK. Transparency was absent in the Finnish government and media and there was no accountability.
I remember one Finnish executive with a young family repeatedly asking me for news on the issue.
The Finns have built an elaborate labyrinth of underground bunkers over many years to deal with emergencies. At different times, Finnish media has reported on the risks of radioactive leaks. In reaction, the public has been scared into binge-buying Jodi iodine tablets. The Pharmaceutical companies have garnered significant profits.
