Overview
Meeting people is the purpose of life. That first encounter will determine whether the relationship continues or whether it fades away. You only get one opportunity at making a favourable first impression and it will be fixed in time.
The focus of the unit is on the first encounter a teacher has meeting students. It highlights some of the key communication concepts and causal drivers that could be considered when evaluating and operationalising first encounters. It can be used as a precursor before doing Unit D1 on expectations.
B.1. Reading (Look at this before doing the tasks). The Tasks and Answer Key/Pointers/Sources are in Theme H in the drop-down menu at the top of this page.
